About the Owner

Combining her years of experience in organizing events, world travel and the love for her husband’s Indian heritage, Jennifer Nair founded Indiana’s first Indian wedding planning and mandap rental companies.

In September of 2008, Jennifer recognized the need for these specific services after her quest to find local offerings for her own wedding yielded no results. She also realized that a level of unfamiliarity with Indian customs existed while working with venues and vendors. Her mission became bridging the gap to provide logistical and cultural guidance.

By 2010, Jennifer took her years of event experience in the corporate and non-profit sector and established Passionate Peacock Event Planning and Mayil Mandaps… the first company of it’s kind in Indiana to provide a one-stop-shop for planning, decorating and rental services, exclusively for South Asian events. Her familiarity with both North and South Indian customs, as well as American traditions, offered a unique perspective.

Finding success in the market, the business grew quickly. Mayil Mandaps expanded it’s team to include an Account Executive, three Decorators and three Labor Crewman.

While running two busy companies, juggling home life and about to become a Mom, Jennifer decided to reevaluate her personal and professional goals. In September of 2012, Mayil Mandaps, Inc. was placed on the market. An established event decorating company in Indiana, who had worked closely with Jennifer on events in the past, quickly expressed interest in purchasing the company. By mid-October, the sale became official and a seamless transition was made.

Jennifer continued to provide outstanding service to clients via her planning business, Passionate Peacock Event Planning, Inc., while enjoying a cooperative relationship with the purchasers of the rental business, Mayil Mandaps, Inc..

In 2016, Jennifer transitioned out of full-time event planning to pursue philanthropic opportunities and dedicate more time to mothering her two young boys.  She is excited to welcome a baby girl into the family in Spring of 2017!

Because she remains passionate about weddings, it is her wish to keep this website active to serve a resource, and also provide day-of-event assistance to any industry event planner who seeks her support.
